Technology start-up EasyX raises NOK 12 million from new investors and is ready to scale in the aquaculture industry.

Knarrevik-based EasyX is joined by several well-known early-stage investors such as StartupLab, Kongsberg Innovation and DSD Investering, in addition to Innovation Norway. EasyX has developed a robot that can operate on vertical surfaces regardless of material. In the first phase, the robot will be used to wash and clean fish tanks at hatcheries and land-based fish farms.

"We see that robotics has enormous potential to streamline and improve processes in many industries, and the EasyX robot is a good example of this. It's rare that we see early-stage companies with such a high demand for their solution, so it's clear that they have hit a nerve in the aquaculture industry with their robot," says Svein-Olav Torø, CEO of Kongsberg Innovation.

Sindre Hansen, CEO of EasyX, is pleased with the recapitalization of the company.

We used 2022 to create a full-scale prototype and show that the concept works well, which it did. Based on high demand, we want to commercialize the product and get it ready for the market," Hansen tells iLaks.

- How do you see the market for this type of product?

"We feel that we're providing a solution to something that the industry has seen as a major problem for a long time. The current approach of manual washing presents HSE challenges related to human exposure to chemicals and height, as well as monotonous and demanding work over time. Beyond this, EasyX streamlines the work quite radically, in addition to reducing human inconsistency," continues Sindre Hansen.

EasyX was founded in 2020 and had a turnover of just under NOK 200,000 the following year.
