Earlier this year, robotics company EasyX raised money from the fishing and aquaculture industry, the startup community and the offshore industry, after finding a market crying out for its technology.
A new board of directors is now in place, consisting of several heavy industry names. The new board includes former Lerøy Sjøtroll CEO and current Lingalaks CEO Nina Møgster; Mats Hagland, business developer at Kongsberg Innovation; Karoline Sjødal Olsen, CEO of Blue Lice and Torgeir Bræin, COO and CTO of Kongsberg Ferrotech.
Going out into the market
EasyX has developed a robot designed for cleaning fish tanks at fish farms. The robot can move on vertical surfaces regardless of the material.
Kongsberg Innovation claims it has "the potential to increase efficiency, reduce environmental impact and improve sustainability in the industry". They therefore believe the innovation is an "important step" in the green transition of the fishing industry.
The technology is currently in demand and involved in several pilot projects, says Kongsberg Innovation.
Earlier in 2023, EasyX raised NOK 12 million from Kongsberg Pre Såkorn Fond, Startuplab, DSD Investering and a few other investors.
With a new board of directors that possesses broad knowledge and experience in the fisheries and aquaculture industry, they are ready to commercialize the robot and grow further, according to a press release.
